Cameron's European Court of Human Rights Reforms: "It is window dressing to fool the voters"

Cameron's European Court of Human Rights Reforms:

The United Kingdom chairs since November the rotating presidency of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, decision-making body of the pan-European organization in Strasbourg. In a speech few weeks ago, Prime Minister David Cameron warned that the court risked undermining its own reputation by "going over national decisions where it does not need to".

Morten Messershmidt : dissenting opinions would “contribute to the quality of the decisions” of the European Court of Justice

Vice chairman of the AFCO Committee Morten Messershmidt, Member of the EFD Group is the author of a Report, adopted by this Committee, on the proposal for a regulation amending the Statute of the Court of Justice of the European Union. One of his propositions is to allow dissenting opinions in the ECJ, as it exists and work for example in the Supreme Court of the US or the Court of Human rights in Strasbourg. He stresses why this reform is more than necessary in the highest European jurisdiction and the impact on the quality and the authority of its decisions.

A huge leap towards economic federalism : the new treaty is unconstitutional, undemocratic and certainly ineffective

Conference-debate on "Europe after tomorrow" organized by the EFD Group in Brussels

A huge leap towards economic federalism : the new treaty is unconstitutional, undemocratic and certainly ineffective

Is the Treaty enforcing budget rules in the Economic and Monetary Union compatible with our Constitutions? Will the European integration survive the Euro? How to restore Democracy in Europe after tomorrow ? These are the three main questions that the two distinguished guests of the EFD Group answered at the conference-debate organized on the initiative of its Vice-Chair Morten Messerschmidt in the European Parliament.

"Totuuksia EU:sta"

EEA: Farage's response to PM Cameron

EEA: Farage's response to PM Cameron

British Prime Minister David Cameron said that if Britain left the EU, the country would find itself in the position of Norway. According to Nigel Farage, Cameron admitted that Britain would still have a free trade deal with 29 States from the European Economic Area (EEA). For UKIP's leader, "there is absolutely nothing to fear in terms of trade from leaving the European Union, because on D+1 we'll find ourselves part of the European Economic Area and with a free trade deal."

EU - The Hidden Local Issue

EU - The Hidden Local Issue

This video aims to highlight a sample of just 8 local issues upon which the EU Parliament has usurped the control of central and local government in the UK - often to disastrous effect. Some appear scandalous, others farcical, but all illustrate that the EU is the hidden local issue. www.hiddenlocalissue.co.uk

Voters in France are too intelligent to believe Sarkozy's lies yet again

Voters in France are too intelligent to believe Sarkozy's lies yet again

Europe has made a sensational arrival in the debate of the French presidential campaign. Socialist Party candidate François Hollande said  he would seek to renegotiate the European fiscal pact agreed to by Merkel and Sarkozy. On his side, French President Nicolas Sarkozy sent an ultimatum on Schengen Agreements, completed with a “Buy European Act” on the American example.

The euro has no positive effect against the crisis, according to 2/3 of the Europeans

Title

The last Eurobarometer survey on "Europeans and the crisis" is the fourth conducted by the European Parliament. The general findings of the survey show more than a scepticism of the Europeans towards the euro, the european financial solidarity in times of crisis and the capacity of the current european system to solve the crisis.
