Europe has made a sensational arrival in the debate of the French presidential campaign. Socialist Party candidate François Hollande said  he would seek to renegotiate the European fiscal pact agreed to by Merkel and Sarkozy. On his side, French President Nicolas Sarkozy sent an ultimatum on Schengen Agreements, completed with a “Buy European Act” on the American example.

The Treaty enforcing budget rules in the Economic and Monetary Union to be ratified before the end of 2012, after the "Six packs" directives adopted by the EU plans one of the hardest austerity policy never known in the European History. At the Asian Financial Forum last January, Nobel laureate and economist Joseph Stiglitz had stated this austerity European plan could be compared to the medieval medical practice of blood letting, leading to the death of the euro as well as our economies. To start with Greece, austerity measures - or a deep slash in debt - will not spark economic growth.

The European Parliament voted today on Croatian accession. It was passed by a strong majority. UKIP Leader Nigel Farage accused the EU of bribing the country with jobs for the political elite and lambasted the lack of free debate in the Croatian press. British Prime Minister David Cameron said that if Britain left the EU, the country would find itself in the position of Norway. According to Nigel Farage, Cameron admitted that Britain would still have a free trade deal with 29 States from the European Economic Area (EEA). For UKIP's leader, "there is absolutely nothing to fear in terms of trade from leaving the European Union, because on D+1 we'll find ourselves part of the European Economic Area and with a free trade deal."
